Profile

Geological engineer working on risk, feasibility and site investigation studies for energy and transport infrastructure.

My daily work is about turning uncertain field data into a clear recommendation that a client, an engineering team and a public institution can all act on. The part I enjoy most is translating technical findings for people who do not have a geology background.

I want to build products rather than only assess the ground they stand on, so I am applying to a Master's in Product Management to add user research, business modelling and product strategy to an engineering and analytical base.

Experience

Trainee Technician

EFIA Cienfuegos — Geological Engineering Group

2024 — present
  • Deliver geological engineering investigations that decide whether an infrastructure site is viable — covering fieldwork, sampling, laboratory coordination and the final technical report.
  • Assess hazard, vulnerability and risk for photovoltaic solar parks, giving project owners the evidence they need to confirm or discard a location before construction budget is committed.
  • Translate technical findings into recommendations for clients and public bodies with no geology background.
  • Work alongside civil engineers, surveyors and laboratory staff, keeping a study on track when field conditions change what was originally planned.
  • Contribute to a municipal inventory of borrow pits and quarries, structuring scattered records into a single dataset usable for planning decisions.
